Wane had initially wanted to be a teacher. However, while in secretarial college at age 18, she won a calendar girl competition that her mother had entered her into. This led to her wanting to become a model, and she was soon signed by an agency. After moving to London, her career headed towards topless modeling. She then moved to Los Angeles, where she spent over a year modelling for men's magazines, before entering the adult film industry at the age of around 21. She began directing in 1992 and has since directed at least 30 films. In June 1994 she was the Penthouse Pet of the Month.
