Shyla was involved in a sex scandal with former Orange County, California assistant-sheriff George Jaramillo, where she was noted as having had several sexual encounters with him in 2003. Shyla died November 9, 2017; she was found unresponsive in bed by her mother. She was pronounced dead shortly after, aged 35. Her cause of death is unknown.
